Meisha Millwee Contactor of the Year - Tennessee Market

Staffing Spotlight
Posting date: 12 September 2022

Meet Meisha Millwee our Tennessee Market Contractor of the Year. She is a Project Coordinator and has worked with us since 2019.

More about our Staffing Star:

“Meisha started with HN US in November 2019 as a Project Coordinator for a government health that operates in the communicable, environmental, and emergency preparedness. Just months into her contract, the Covid-19 pandemic hit. Her role and responsibilities grew quickly, and other projects were pushed to the side as she and her team shifted their focus to Covid-19 response. She was (and still is) a liaison for the Communicable and Environmental Diseases team to the US Health and Human Services for Covid-19 reporting. Over the last nearly 3 years, she has had the opportunity to hire for her own team and now manages a team of 8 Vulnerable Population Coordinators who work in various regions of the state of TN. These Coordinators handle all of the items mentioned above and much more. During the peak of the pandemic, they also helped coordinate where Covid-19 kits were essential to be distributed throughout the state of TN. Meisha’s dedication and passion for her role are extremely evident and we could not be prouder that she is a member of HN-US!” – Rachel Hutto, Client Delivery Manager, Harvey Nash USA

What does winning this award mean to you?

I was honestly speechless to hear that this recognition has been bestowed on me. It is a humbling but much appreciated acknowledgement of work that I am truly passionate about. The Emergency Preparedness Program in Tennessee has proven to be a dream come true. To receive such an honor from the very company that connected me to this dream is beyond anything I could have expected. I know there are plenty of people that deserve this award as much as I do, if not more so. It gives me a great sense of personal and professional fulfillment and I sincerely offer my gratitude.

Tell us about yourself, what’s your background?

After working many years in the retail industry, a former colleague offered me a position with a software company. While I had not previously had experience in that industry, I was given the opportunity to learn about the software lifecycle and the wide variety of teams and leadership needed to be successful. With some extra hours and an endless desire to grow my knowledge base, I was able to move up and into new and continuously challenging roles.

In 2019, I had a life change that brought me from Dallas, TX to Nashville, TN. I was contacted by a representative from Harvey Nash about a project coordinator position with the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) that they thought I would be a good fit for. It was not the type of industry I would have thought to look for on my own, but it has proven to be the most fulfilling position I have ever had and truly utilizes every aspect of my professional history. I am grateful that that representative put together my varied skill set with the qualifications that TDH was looking for and made the connection.

What do you like about working with Harvey Nash USA?

The staff members are always responsive and friendly and are genuinely interested in the satisfaction of their contractors. Harvey Nash works hard to ensure the best matches are made regarding qualifications needed while also keeping great consideration for both the candidates and the companies they are connecting with. This consideration is apparent from the experience I have had even working through the COVID-19 pandemic. Harvey Nash, together with the exemplary leadership team at TDH in the Emergency Preparedness Program, make it rewarding to put forth the best effort. It is truly the greatest opportunity, and I could not be happier.

Tell us something fun about yourself? Hobbies, playlist, favorite movies,

I thoroughly enjoy cooking (think Julia Child), gardening, home improvement, refinishing cast iron cookware, and being comical. I have been commented to have the widest variety of taste in music by enough people that it is worth mentioning, though my favorite is 1940’s. I learned to play the Moonlight Sonata by ear when I was 12 by starting and stopping a record player in a different room than the piano. I hated opera until I was offered a small part in Dido and Aneas in college. My favorite operatic composer is Giacomo Puccini. I read Great Expectations in the 7th grade because I wanted to. Jane Eyre is my favorite novel. I love English poetry. Almost all of my favorite plants begin with the letter “H”. I was raised by my grandparents, part of the WWII “Greatest Generation”. I enjoy cleaning. I can do almost all of my own plumbing and drywall finishing, I am not afraid of machine grease, and I LOVE power tools. I never want to stop learning.
