At Harvey Nash, our team is the heartbeat of our culture and values. They are at the frontlines with employees, clients, and candidates. We couldn't do what we do without our EPIC team! This month we are shining the spotlight on Aakanksha Rathi, a Recruiting Lead who’s been at Harvey Nash USA for over ten years!

Tell us more about your business, how many people, what markets do you focus on?

I have been an early member of HN Major Accounts Team (also the ETD Team) which focuses on contract hub roles for large enterprise clients from various industries. I have seen this team grow along with the increase of our client and contractor base and feel very fortunate to have had that experience.

Tell us a bit about yourself, how long have you been with Harvey Nash Group, what’s your background?

I have been with HN for over ten years now. I completed my MBA with Majors in Finance and minor in Marketing. I worked in the banking sector in India for a while. After coming to the USA, I volunteered for a few companies where I got my first experience recruiting, and I’ve loved it ever since. I started with HN as a part of their Seattle team of recruiters, where I won my Debut Recruiter Award.  After that, I transitioned to the ETD team and have loved the fast-paced nature of our team environment since.

What’s the biggest opportunity for your business right now?

The biggest opportunity is that we are catering to the top clients, and there is so much more scope to accomplish. HN has been the preferred tier 1 vendor for its clients, and there is an immense opportunity to expand our contractor bases with these clients. This seems to be an achievable goal, thanks to the growth of our team. As additional team members have joined us recently, we've started to tap in deeper with these accounts, and there is no looking back.

…and what’s the biggest challenge?

The biggest challenge is that we are not the only recruiters out there, and we understand that the competition is huge. We are also a team that is still expanding and growing, which comes with a learning curve. But I am confident that once we cross that path with our new team structure, we can achieve a lot with our extremely talented and dedicated members.

And finally…

What’s on your playlist?

Believe it or not – it's kid's songs from Kidz Bop (because of my 2 kids). But my favorites are fusion songs by Vidya Vox, “Major Lazer – Lean On with Jind Mahi,” “The Chainsmokers- closer as Kabira” as well as my all-time favorites from Indian Singer Arijit Singh.

Hobbies?

Listening to Music, cooking, and painting.

Dream vacation?

Many on my bucket list: Italy, Switzerland, France, and Bora-Bora

Tell us something we don’t know about you?

I once played state-level badminton in India. I participated in Miss Eastern India before my Master’s and made it to the top ten.
