Contractor Spotlight: Godwin Varghese
Godwin has been with us for over 4 years and in this time he has represented us very well. Godwin has gone above and beyond helping assist on new projects that come available. Godwin has grown within his position and is now acting as a Lead Database Manager managing several projects and teams and has been a great representation of Harvey Nash. I highly recommend Godwin as he’s not only a consultant, but we’ve grown a strong relationship through these years and he’s a valuable asset to this company!by Landon Bailey, Consultant Relations Lead
Interview with Godwin Varghese, Database Administrator (Lead), 4 years plus with Harvey Nash
Tell us about yourself, what’s your background?
I graduated with an engineering degree in 2010 and started my career as a SQL developer in a Healthcare company. I loved working as a Developer and gradually moved to database administrative role after a year. Since then, I learned a ton about how to manage databases and still learning on multiple domains.
What do you like about working with Harvey Nash USA?
It’s been almost 5 years with Harvey Nash and I can say from my experience that the company is “Awesome”. The core behind the “Awesome” is the people working there. They are prompt, experienced, energetic, and very helpful, and never felt any disappointment working with the company. They always touch base with the employee’s concerns and provide recommendations for the career growth which is more important in my opinion. It’s cool to work for such a well-known firm.
Can you tell us about your successes at work?
One of my greatest successes at my current job has been leading the configuration, installation, and implementation of new server farms. As a lead, it was challenging for me to build an entirely new environment from scratch. But I learned quickly and understood the domain on how to implement the farm in a most effective way. Within two months, building server farms got completed successfully and this will be the new resting place for application data with more reliability and availability.
Tell us something fun about yourself? Hobbies, playlist, favorite movies,
I’m a car enthusiast and love to drive long distances. Longest drive I have ever did alone was from Las Vegas to New Jersey in 4 days.
